Spring Break 2012

After a fun-filled weekend at the Gaylord, I was able to stay home the entire week of Spring Break!  Mommy and I hung around the house on Monday and most of Tuesday, and then Daddy and I spent some quality time together Tuesday afternoon.  We get into all kinds of mischief.  A few days earlier, he got me a sundae from McDonald's, but I dropped it in the parking lot.  Because he's the best dad every, he drove through and got me another one!  I also talked him into letting me scratch his lottery ticket, but it was not a winner.  Then we made some homemade pizza for Mommy...delicious!

 On Wednesday, we went down to Nederland.  Nana got me a pass to ride as many rides as I wanted all week, so of course we went tot the Heritage Festival right away.  I rode everything I could several times over!  It was so cool riding with all my cousins, especially Peyton.

 Nannie came with me one night and even rode some rides.  We had a blast on the tilt-a-whirl and the dragons.  I loved the big boy rides the most!

 We ran into so many people out at the festival, and Aunt Brenda even came out just to take pictures of me. Everyone turns into a kid again out there, and I was so proud of Daddy for making it through the fun house behind me.  That big slide was awesome!

 What would a festival be without games and food?  I picked three lucky ducks and won this awesome shark.  My new soccer team is called the Sharks, and it is the perfect mascot!  Each day we went out for rides, I had to have a delicious corn dog.  They were great!

 One night Nannie and I baked some cookies.  We let them cool, and the next day we decorated them with icing and sprinkles.  They were green for St. Patrick's Day.

Nannie asked if I would ride bikes with her.  I said yes, but I want to ride with BOTH my grandmas.  So, Nannie loaded up her bike and brought it over to Nana's.  I thought the whole thing was pretty awesome, and I'm starting to ride my bike pretty well now.  I took one small tumble and scraped up my arm, but I got back on and kept riding.

 I stopped by to see MaMa and PaPa Collins several times, and we had some fun visits.  I gave PaPa a bubble gun for his birthday, and he let me shoot it inside the house!!!  It was awesome.  Aunt Pat was over there one day, and we went out to look for the new goldfish she put in the pond.  We couldn't find him in there, but we sure tried.

I love seeing all my friends and family, but no one can top the fun I have with my cousins.  We finished the week off with a trip to Ryan's baseball game.  I cheered and hollered while he batted and pitched.

 Of course, we did plenty of swimming during the week as well.  I am so happy I can swim without floaties now!

One more holiday down, and Easter is right around the corner.  Next weekend soccer starts back up, and summer will be here before we know it!

Spring Break 2012- Part I

Spring Break is finally here!  I started a bit early by staying home with Daddy on Thursday.  I was up extra early, fully dressed in my summer clothes.  We went fishing, but the fish weren't biting, and we played around the house the rest of the day.  I just love staying home!

 After one more day of school, the break officially began.  I woke up first thing Saturday and started packing my suitcase.  Daddy booked us a room at the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine, and he added the special Dreamworks package.  He told me I would get to meet the characters from my favorite movie, Madagascar.  My dad is the best!!!

 Once we checked in, we wandered around the resort for awhile.  Each section is like a different part of Texas.  I liked the fish along the "Riverwalk" where we stayed.

I enjoyed looking at all the plants, and I especially liked all the model trains. This hotel is pretty great.

 Finally it was time for the Meet and Greet. I was a bit starstruck at first, but the nice workers brought me right up to the characters to feel them and shake their hands.  I even got some hugs, and it was awesome!  I couldn't get enough of the Penguins, King Julian, Gloria and Alex.

 At home I had drawn a special picture for the penguins.  I forgot to bring it, so I ran out to the lobby and quickly sketched a new one.  The hotel staff let me go back in to bring my special delivery.

 That evening, it was time for the dance party, and all the characters were there.  I ran right up to all of them and danced the night away.  I made sure they noticed my new light up shoes as I jumped up and down non-stop for hours.  Occasionally I needed to take a break to rest and have a sip of water.  Being a dancing machine is hard work!

 When I wasn't dancing, I was playing video games and other games like pass the coconut and pineapple bowling.

 After a pretty intense round of the Conga, I had a few final dances with my new friends before we went off to dinner at the sports bar.  What an amazing evening!

 After dinner, we were treated to a showing of Puss in Boots, along with popcorn and juice.  Somehow I still had enough energy left (probably from the ice cream) to run a few laps in the hotel room before I crashed.

 Shrek called our room this morning to wake us up, and I thought he was hysterical.  We stopped off for breakfast, picked up Rocco and then went back home.  I immediately planted the magic bean that Puss in Boots left for me at the end of the scavenger hunt at the hotel.  I can't wait to see what it grows into.

It has been an exciting two days, and I am looking forward to seven more!!!

A Week with Daddy

At the end of February, Mommy was gone to San Antonio for competition for five whole days.  Nana came up to hang out with Daddy and me, and boy did we have a great time.  I got Nana a birdhouse for her birthday, so we took some time to paint it together.  I can't wait to see how it looks in her yard!

 Kaly and Hannah were gone for the weekend with Uncle Troy, so we got to spend some quality time with Campbell and Aunt Jenny.  We played around outside, and even had a sleepover at my house!  I always have fun playing with Cams.

 Daddy and I also spent an evening out with some of his friends.  We went to watch the Allen Wranglers, an arena league football team.  The popcorn and thundersticks were awesome.

 Eventually Mommy came home, and it was back to business as usual.  This weekend, my new soccer team had its very first practice.  We are going to have tons of fun this spring.  Afterward, Kennedy, Hailey, Jack and I convinced our parents to take us to IHOP for pancakes....delicious!  The weather was perfect all weekend, and we spent most of it playing outside.  I rode my bike around the neighborhood, jumped for hours on the trampoline and played all kinds of sports out back.  The weekend wouldn't be complete without a picnic and finding the perfect location for my new pinwheel.

 Now I'm counting down....only 5 days until spring break!!
