April Fun

We spent most of April just having fun!  I got a new hat, shirt and pair of cowboy boots for Western Day at school, but I wear them ALL the time. I feel like a real cowboy, and  I LOVE MY BOOTS!!!

T-ball season is in full swing, and there is nothing better than having my own cheering section. 

 You've got to give the fans a wave after crossing the plate!

 I even have a blast when we go out to lunch after the games.  Saturdays are the best!

 While Nana was in town, we went on a few adventures.  She took Campbell and I to the zoo, along with Aunt Liz, Uncle John and Laura.  I loved looking at all the animals and riding the rides.

 

We also went with everyone to the golf club for dinner.  Brenley enjoyed her first visit, and we took over the putting green after finishing our ice cream sundaes!

 As always though, I have the most fun at home with my family.  Brenley and I like to snuggle and have movie time.

 She still sleeps a lot, but she's starting to play more.  She noticed her mobile the other day and decided that she really liked it.

Sometimes she even watches Dad while he takes a nap!

 It's always fun to dress up as a policeman, fireman, ninja turtle or cowboy, and of course it's the best when we just act silly!

 I even wrote, directed, produced and presented my very own puppet show.  I set out refreshments and had Aunt Liz and Uncle John attend as audience members.

 It's been fun staying home with Mom the past few months.  I'm not looking forward to her going back to work in a few weeks, but summer will be right around the corner.

A Week Apart

Mom is working on her PhD, and she had to make a trip to San Antonio for the National Science Teacher Association's national conference.  Nannie and I went with her, and we made a pit stop in Austin for the night.  I stay pretty entertained in my bouncy seat, and I love my new rattle!  

 Ms. Jenny stopped by to meet me, and she agreed to be my godmother!  She is so fun, but I was getting a little sleepy.

 In San Antonio, we stayed at the historic Menger Hotel next door to the Alamo.  We had a great big room with a balcony and pool view.

 I hung out in the room, rode in the elevator, and strolled around the pool and garden with Nannie.

 I even got to stroll around the conference for a while.  Everyone thought I was adorable, and I was definitely the youngest scientist there!

 On Saturday night, we went to have dinner with my new friend Caroline and her parents for dinner.  Mr. Jud was very good friends with Daddy and Mommy when they were young.

 Meanwhile, back at home, Carter was busy playing with Dad.  He had two T-ball games and did a great job!  Dad even made him green eggs and ham for breakfast, and they went for a picnic at the park.  Mom and I left him notes to open every day, and he loved those too!

I was so happy to finally get home, and everyone was glad to see me. We got Carter a pop-gun as a souvenir, and he loved it!  It is great to have my family back together again.

 

Gooooo Braves!

After weeks of rained out practice and a postponed first game of the season, it was finally time for a real T-ball game!  I was so excited to sit in the dug-out.  Everyone thought I looked very professional in all my gear.

 I was the third batter up in the game, and I got a great hit.  I hit it all three times and made it to first safely.  I loved running the bases and having Dad wave me home at third base. 

When we took the field, I played first base.  Our pitcher stopped the ball and threw it to me several times.  I stopped the ball and tagged the bag.  Even though they don't count outs in T-ball, I had several!

I definitely had the loudest, craziest fans in the stand!  They cheered for everyone on the team, but they were the loudest for me.  Brenley was there in her baseball gear, and Mommy and Nannie had  on their special shirts.  Aunt Liz and Uncle John even wore shirts with my last name and jersey number on the back.  It was great, and I can't wait until my next game!

In other "firsts", I got my first big fat busted lip.  I was swinging on the couches, slipped and face planted on the rug.  There was blood everywhere, but I felt better after a little bit of ice.  Also, after weeks of intense practice, I have finally mastered swinging by myself.  It is awesome not having to wait for someone to push me!

Of course in the rest of our spare time, we all play with Brenley.  She is pretty awesome and is starting to interact more.  I love talking to her, and she is finally starting to make all kinds of crazy sounds back!  Sometimes you can even get her to giggle!

She still sleeps most of the time, but it's fun that she is awake more.  Mommy said she even slept seven hours a few nights ago.  Later this week she is going to a conference with Mommy and Nannie, and I get a weekend with Dad all to myself.  Oh, the adventures we will both have!
