First Trip to the Ranch

I had a VERY exciting weekend because I took my first trip to the ranch to visit Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle John. I had a BLAST. I love nature and being outside, and I took the best naps ever rocking out on the porch. I woke up the first morning at 5AM ready to go! I heard turkeys right outside the trailer and coyotes out roaming the land! Over the weekend I saw quail, rabbits, birds, cows and so much more. Here's a few pictures we took on the bluff overlooking the river. While roaming the property, I found a beautiful flower. I carried it all around and even admired it in my chair on the porch :) I rode in the mule out to the deer feeder to check out a hog Uncle John had killed. It was awesome. We also rode up and down some big hills and through a big pool of water. I wasn't scared at all. In fact, I thought it was pretty great. In the midst of all my adventures, I made sure there was still time to relax, though. Swinging in this hammock is the life!

I also found time to get into to plenty of trouble. Daddy said I wasn't allowed to play in the kitchen. I tried to anyway! On Sunday we went down to the bottom of the bluff to see the Pease River. I loved sticking my feet in the water and playing in the sand. What? We have to go back? Then it's my turn to drive!! We had several storms blow in unexpectedly, so we had to leave earlier than planned. The road up to the trailer was washed out, and we did not want to get stuck. We drove into nearby Quitaque to eat at the Sportsman Cafe. It was there that I was given my first taste of mashed potatoes.....YUMMY! (Over the course of the weekend mommy also let me try a bit of rib and some watermelon. I'm not so sure about those yet.)After lunch, we went to Caprock Canyon State Park. There is a herd of buffalo there, but we couldn't see them. I had fun stretching my legs anyway! Here I am in a buffalo hat :) Thanks Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle John for inviting us, and I can't wait to go back. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!!!

Doctors and Programs

Hey everybody! I have been busy running all around Frisco this week. Yesterday I went back to the ear doctor, and he said my hearing is back to 100%! These tubes are awesome :) Last night I went to Kaly's preschool graduation (YAY KALY!), and tonight we went to Hannah's program. They did great, and I loved listening to all the kids sing. I was dancing in my seat!On the homefront, I am moving faster than ever. Mommy and daddy can barely keep up with me. I am always on the move!My latest fascination is with the vaccumm cleaner. It looks SO COOL. I love to watch it spin around and around. Mommy and daddy say I'm not allowed to touch it because it's "yucky". I'm starting to figure out that I can almost touch it without getting in trouble :) (Don't grab it, don't grab it, don't grab it.....)I've been exploring other parts of the house lately, too. I can't seem to get any privacy though. Mommy follows me everywhere. No matter how fast I crawl away, there she is again! I've discovered that the handles on drawers are pretty cool. I like to grab them :) I've also discovered that under the dining room table is a pretty cool place to hang out. It's the perfect size for me and Rocco! (Who seems to be feeling better, by the way.)

This weekend, I get to go to the ranch for the first time. I can't wait to get there! Don't worry, I'll post lots of pictures. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

So, this is the time of year when it seems like there is a birthday every day. My Aunt Jenny's birthday is today, so I hope she has a great one! I hope Peyton has a fun baptism, too. Wish we were there! Yesterday was Mommy's birthday. We got to eat at a fancy steakhouse for a school banquet (no steak yet for me though), and afterward we came home and she opened her presents. We had so much fun just hanging out.

I have been running around like a wild man lately. I have been refusing to take my afternoon nap at school which makes me SO tired at night. Mommy caught Daddy and I passed out the other morning.

On Wednesday night, Mommy heard a strange noise and finally figured out it was me grinding my teeth. She then realized that in order to grind teeth, you have to have some on top AND bottom! Sure enough, two top teeth have come in and you can see two more on the way. I've also started to let go of things and stand on my own for a few seconds. If Daddy holds my hand, I'll walk down the hall, too. Most of the time though, I just want to play!!! I threw a fit at school this week when the ladies wanted to change my diaper, but I wasn't done with my toys. I've been having fun playing on the floor this weekend though.

In other family news, Rocco has thrown his back out :( It makes me very sad because I love to chase and pet him, but my parents won't let me. Daddy took him to the doctor and Rocco isn't allowed to jump or play for at least a week, longer if he still isn't better. Get well soon, Rocco!!

9 Month Update

So, it's a couple of weeks late, but I had my nine month check-up today. Everything went great! I only had to get one shot, and I finally had no fluid in my ears! Go tubes!

Here are the stats: 20 lbs (50%), 27.8 inches (50%), and 17.3 head circumference (25%). I got an A+ on my development and an A+ on my physical exam. The doctor also saw that all 4 of my top teeth are on the verge of busting through. It won't be fun while they do, but afterward I get to start eating table food!

This is afternoon I've just been playing around. I love to look at mommy's fountain :)

Last night I really wanted to hang out in my swing. Daddy put me in there, and I was deep in thought. Have a great week!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I hope my Mommy, Nannie, Nana, Grandma Collins, GG, Aunt Jenny, Aunt Lori, and all the mom's out there have a wonderful day! I wish I was able to see everyone!
At school I made my mom a card with my handprint on it, and I got her some chocolate, too! At home I wanted to make another one, so I scribbled a little note and put both my handprints inside.

This morning I helped mommy open her present. It was a beautiful steel park bench for the backyard. I knew some assembly would be required, but I was ready for it.

Uh, dad? I think this project was a bit bigger than I thought. Can I get some help here?

Now that I've got my worker in line, it's time to get started!

I used my wrench to get everything nice and tight. Feels sturdy to me!

Mommy and I decided to test it out inside first. Then we took it out back. She loves it!!!

I have had quite a busy weekend. On Friday night I went to the Wolverine baseball game. They lost, but I LOVED watching! Everyone came up to me after the game to say how well behaved I was and that I was bound to be a future ball player! Saturday morning we got up and went to Kaly's last soccer game. I had fun crawling around outside.

I was so tired after the busy start to my weekend that I slept 12 straight hours! Mommy made me sleep with her so she could make sure I was still breathing!

Other than that, I have just been playing like crazy. (Do you think I have enough toys?) I don't go many places without my football these days.........
and I love to tackle Mommy!!

What Pandemic?

I'm just not sure what all this "swine flu" hype is about. Mommy's school doesn't seem to be shutting down anytime soon (even though all the ones nearby are), and mine isn't either. I think it's all being blown a bit out of proportion. I'm not losing any sleep about it, and neither is Paw Paw. We had fun together this weekend.

I hung out with my cousins and grandparents this weekend, and I wore myself out. I slept until 7:00am on Sunday! I also got my very first bruise. I tried to pull up on the table, and my hand slipped on some clothes that were up there. I bonked my head on the table, and it hurt! I healed up pretty quickly though. Sunday I took a head first dive off the chair in the living room! My parents are very protective of me, but I snuck by them! It was a little scary, but I wasn't hurt. I've been unsuccessfully trying to do it again :)

I've really perfected my temper tantrums, and I throw them when mommy and daddy tell me "no". I'm starting to figure out that some things just aren't worth the fight. They do not give in! No fun. I've also started throwing them every morning when mommy leaves me at school. I don't like to make her sad, but I wish she would stay and play with us. She keeps saying "Just a few more weeks!" Well, I think that's all the news for now. Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Nannie! I hope you had a wonderful day. I wish I was there to play with you, but I'm sure I'll see you soon. I love you and miss you!

Today I had a fairly major discovery. Not only can I go around the coffee table to the right, I can go LEFT TOO! I'm not as efficient going that way, but it keeps me from having to go all the way around. Mommy's shortcut of putting things to my left is over!
My new favorite trick is headbutting things. I think it's great. I headbutt my crib, my toys, the couch...and this afternoon...MOMMY! I busted her lip. It bled and everything! She forgave me though. A little bit of ice, and it was all better...see :)
Earlier in the week, daddy stayed home with me, and I was a very good boy. I even took a nap in my swing while he had a meeting!
I do like to get into mischief, and I'm all about testing boundaries. You can't take your eyes off of me for a second. Or can you? What? I'm not doing anything...I promise!
