To The Zoo!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! What a fun Spring Break I've had so far. Until today, we've spent almost the whole time outside in the backyard listening to music and playing ball. This morning we had breakfast and headed to the Fort Worth Zoo. We knew it would be crowded, so we got there right when it opened so we could see everything. It was so awesome to see all the animals from my books in real life. We saw everything you could think of...even meerkats! I loved everything and wanted to get as close as possible, except for the gorillas. They got right up to the glass in front of me, and I didn't like that one bit! I didn't cry, but I wanted out of there. I even got to pet a sting ray and starfish! It was awesome! I talked mommy into buying me a souvenier t-shirt and this awesome Ernie hat. My absolute favorite thing was the lion exhibit. I waved, talked, and ROARed to them. Mommy kept asking if I wanted to leave, and I said "No! More lion!." After a full morning, we headed back toward home. We stopped in Grapevine at the Rainforest Cafe, but the wait was WAY too long. We grabbed a quick bite instead and had some fun on the carousel. I love those horses!Other than the zoo, I've just been enjoying my Spring Break getting into mischief at home. Only a few more months until summer when I get to do this all the time!
Now it's full steam ahead to a fun weekend celebrating Campbell's birthday with all my cousins!

A Weekend Outside

It has been a pretty low key week full of family visits and outdoor fun. Last weekend we went to visit family in Southlake. I got to hang out with my great Aunt Bob and cousins Andrea, Jorge, Madi, Makenzie, Mia & Mitchell. I had so much fun playing with everyone, and I was sad when we had to go home. We went back again this past weekend and played well into the night. Hopefully I get to see them again soon! School was pretty normal all week, but I did get into a few fights over toys. I managed to protect my stuff, but I walked away with a few battle wounds! I'm starting to talk a LOT, but did you know that just because you use your words, you don't necessarily get your way? What good is that? I get really angry sometimes and make life a little more difficult for my parents, but they seem to love me anyway. I'm working hard to perfect my temper tantrums, and I've been practicing a few times a day. The focus has mostly been on getting dressed and having to go inside. I just love being outside so much, and now that the temperature is in the 60s, I never want to go in. This weekend Poppy and Uncle Daniel came to visit. We spent all day Saturday in the backyard and at the park. There was lots of soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, and running around. At the park I climbed all over everything. I even went down the slide by myself! Of course, I carried my soccer ball everywhere except when I was coloring on the sidewalk. I even kicked the soccer ball all the way back home (and for those of you that don't know...that's a pretty long way)! I think my Uncle Daniel is pretty funny, and we had tons of fun! Hopefully he'll come and visit me again soon. I loved seeing my Poppy, too. We played cars, shot baskets outside, and ate all kinds of awesome food (even CAKE!). I wasn't in the mood for pictures last night....until he turned me upside down! Overall it was a fun week, and I'm so excited about Spring Break and the new adventures I'll have!!

To the Capitol!

On the road again! The Lady Wolverines basketball team made it to the state championship game, and my crazy parents decided it would be fun to drive to Austin for the day to watch the game. After sleeping in, we loaded up and hit the road. I was excited to see some basketball. After a long trip and a yummy lunch at the Cracker Barrel, we finally made it. I had my basketball and was ready for the game. Daddy and I even played a little basketball ourselves in the cupholder! At halftime I walked all the way around the arena, and I got to meet several of Mommy's coworkers and students.Eventhough the girls came in second, I still had a blast. It was nice to see the Erwin Center for the first time. I'm determined to see every stadium and arena I can!! Mommy and Daddy decided we should walk up to the Capitol building since it wasn't too far away. I thought it was pretty neat and loved watching all the squirrels run around. After meeting up with Jenny for dinner, it was time to drive all the way back home. Jammies?-check. Mickey?- check. Monkey?-check. Elmo?-check. Snoozing the whole way home?-check. Another spontaneous adventure by the Bell family complete!!

AcDec State 2010!

Another year of Mommy coaching Academic Decathlon, another trip to San Antonio for the state competition! Daddy and I met up with the team on Thursday night, and we had so much fun playing all over town. The suites were nice, and I really enjoyed all the free food at breakfast and dinner, as well as the fireplace. Of course, Elmo had to check it all out, too!

I actually didn't get to see Mommy too much because she was VERY busy prepping her students and being at the actual competition in the hotel down the street. Sometimes Daddy and I would walk over there to hang out with her. If I was lucky, my friends Emily and Elizabeth were there to play with me. I met them last year about this time when they got adopted from Russia! We have so much fun coloring and playing on our iphones. I also like hanging out with the big kids. Mommy's student Renu spoils me rotten. She carries me whenever I want, lets me sit in her lap, and she even asked me to prom. Mommy said I have to wait a while for that! We sure had fun playing stickers, though. Most of the time Daddy and I played outside. The weather was beautiful, so we went to the park, threw coins in the huge hotel fountains and even played soccer on the basketball court. I loved spending so much fun time with my Dad!

One night we went to see Jud and Jocelyn. They had a very nice house with a big dog and everything. I had fun playing, watching movies, and blowing out the fire place. I hope we get to go back again very soon. After four days of fun, I was ready to go home. I've got my suitcase packed and am ready to roll! Wait a minute, where's my shirt?On the way home, we stopped to eat at McDonalds, and I got to play in the toddler area. I had a blast climbing through the tree house, and turning every knob and ball. Did you know that I can count to four? I let my parents in on that secret while we were there. So much fun! Well, it's back to the daily grind at school, but hopefully I'll have some more fun adventures to discuss in a few days. Happy March everyone!

Love and Stitches

Boy, do I have a story for you. I finally got my first round of stitches, and an awesome scar story to go with it. We'll get to that in just a minute, but I'll start with my Valentine's Day. It was a pretty fun holiday, and I got to spend it at home with mom and dad. I got to share some candy, open cards, color and play with my new Elmo stickers. I hope everyone else had an awesome Valentine's Day. I love you! With all the snow and school being cancelled, my school Valentine's party got pushed back to this past Monday. I was really looking forward to it, so my parents let me go in to school eventhough they were off of work. I went in late and was only there for 45 minutes before Mommy got the call. I stood up on a chair, tipped it over and sliced the top of my ear apart. We raced to an ER, and they sent us to Children's Hospital. The ER doctor and ear doctor thought it would be best to call in the head plastic surgeon, and he was on the case. I had to wait from 10:30 to 6:00 for my surgery, and I couldn't eat or drink anything at all. I was pretty tough and didn't need any pain meds at all. The nurses brought me toys, videos, and all kinds of neat stuff to keep me occupied. I even ran around the waiting room in my gown and played while waiting for the doctors. Considering how bad it was, the doc did a great job sewing me back up. It's cut about twice as far behind my ear, but you can't see it in the pic. Don't mind the applesauce in my ear either! The glue will last a few weeks and the stitches a few months, but it will be quite the story to tell! I did stay home all week, and this weekend Nannie came to see me. I played tons of ball, rode around in my tricycle and hung out with all my stuffed animal friends. Mickey, Elmo and Monkey are the best!! My cousins came by to visit, and we had a blast in the backyard. We'll have to get together and play more often! This morning it was raining, and I wanted to go play outside. Mommy put on my boots and out we went. I loved playing in the water and the mud!! It was an awesome weekend, and I'm looking forward to my trip to San Antonio in a few days =)

Soccer and Snow

Snow, snow, snow!! It snowed all day, and I love it! Everything is so white and pretty. At school they even brought some snow inside so we could play in it. After dinner, mommy and daddy took me outside and we played for a long time. We were bundled up in coats, gloves, and boots, but it was still cold! The snow was up to my knees!!!I liked making snowballs and throwing them around, and I helped mommy make this awesome snowman. He had a real carrot nose and everything!If we have school tomorrow, we are having a Valentine's Day party. Lots of yummy treats in store! School is starting a few hours late already, but there's a chance we'll get a snow day. With all this cold weather, my outside activities have been moved inside. I shoot basketball a ton, but I've been practicing my soccer skills too. I've been wearing the shin guards Nana got me, and I can kick the ball all the way across the house. Don't tell Mommy!! I really like to play goalie, and I can even do a drop kick to get it out of there!! Mommy and Daddy said if I behave, I might be able to take a fun class this summer for kids my age that's all about soccer! For now though, I'm looking forward to a 3 (maybe 4) day weekend, and of course Valentine's Day. I love and miss everyone!

18 Months!

I definitely felt like a big boy this week. Now that I am 18 months old, I am in a new room at school. It has been awesome!! The room is bigger, there are more toys and activities, and no high chairs or other baby stuff to get in my way. I even get to go to Spanish and music class every week! Yesterday I showed off a little bit by reading an entire animal book out loud and doing all the different animal sounds. My teachers loved it! I also had a check-up at the doctor and got an A+. Recently I've been really interested in trying out the potty. I like to sit on it and read my books, and I've even managed to use it properly a time or two. I am so over being a baby! I even love to brush my own teeth when I get ready for bed at night. Last night we went to the Wakeland basketball game, and I had a pretty good time. I like when students holler at me from the stands. I feel famous! Tonight I get to go to a musical at the school, and I am ready for some singing and dancing. Also, Nana had her birthday this week... "Happy Birthday, Nana!" I'm looking forward to another fun week of adventures!
